This item is designed as a direct bolt on application acting as a heat shield in between the muffler center pipe and drive shaft. Keeping excess heat away from the drift shaft will elongate the durability of the drive shaft boot and it’s grease, which in turn saves your driveshaft from snapping. Tearing of the boot can leak out grease onto the center pipe causing a mess and possible fire hazard.
