Dyno Tune Thursday – Stage 2 2011 Subaru STi

ChrisTouge June 28, 2018 Comments: 6

Here we have a 2011 Subaru STi that was custom tuned by OnPoint Dyno with just a turboback exhaust and a 3-Port EBCS.  With a stock STi making around 228WHP this car made a healthy 50WHP gain from the exhaust and tuning alone.  This is great bang for your buck!

  • Have a 2011 wrx, stock. Really enjoyed your rundowns on the hp increases.

I like stock sound volume, but the downpipe is restrictive. Tuner told me get an intercooler, EBCS, access port, downpipe, and custom tune. Your tests all show numbers for a full catback system, so I’m curious what hp that adds over just the downpipe?

I am wanting a stage 2 daily driver, so not necessarily “over the top” hp numbers, with the advantage of all the power being lost to stock pipe and tuning.

    • The cat-back is worth around 10-20WHP in the test we did, obviously, this does require the downpipe to be installed.

  • Hey Chris,

I just received a good package deal from someone on both a Cobb downpipe, and a K&N Typhoon intake. My plan is to do a stage 2 setup, including a Grimmspeed intercooler and Cobb ebcs (and custom protune with Access Port.)

I’ve heard you say that intakes don’t do much until over stage 2, but is it worth installing at all? I hardly paid anything for it, and the sound is great when driving with it versus a stock airbox setup. Some people say an intake really helped them, but I’d rather ask a tuner, lol.

    Thanks for your time
